Another Chapter in the Lebron James Basketball Star Book
0 Comments Published by BluDragoness on Friday, April 01, 2005 at 6:54 AM.By now Lebron James is already looking to become a legend in basketball. Next to the great players like Wilt, Magic, Bird. Last year he was proclaimed 2003-2004 Rookie of the year becoming the youngest ever to receive this type of award. At 6-8, 240 lbs. James came to the Cavs fresh out of St. Vincent-St. Mary HS. Ranking number one in steals his quickness and agility with him he carries his team to a lot of victories. "King James" as his fans would call him averages 30.4 points per game, 9.7 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 2.9 steals. Last week he managed to rack up his fist triple double that is remarkable for someone so new to the game. A lot of people agree that Lebron just keeps stepping up his game. That nobody can stop him now.
But with all the great things happening to James he has had some difficult times also. James fans were shocked to find him injured. James's fans also are relieved after they found out that he was alright after the elbow to the face by Mutombo. And who can forget the time when James rolled his ankle? Even when he wore the protective mask it didn't stop his game. He played his heart out every night. He just celebrated his 20h birthday and future plans are to be in NIKE commercials to be their official spoke person. He already has appeared in commercials for the Cavs, and the NBA, Cartoon Network, and TNT.
During the USA dream team Lebron James played a great first time game in the Olympics. They were not used to all the different match ups, and the fact that they all got thrown into the teams together not playing together before is hard it takes time and practice that something the other countries had. All and all the other countries like Argentina played exceptional my hats go off to them. America must realize that good things have to come to an end at one time or another. This was a good experience for the new rookies and I'm sure that they enjoyed themselves.
Many people like to discuss the "King James vs. Melo" match up. Carmello Anthony was drafted to the Denver Nuggets at 1st round 3 pick, and he was also in the Olympics with James. I think Melo is a great player, but watching James play he is more of a team player. He gets the Cavs involved with the game and pumps them up. I think he will be here for the long haul and it's great to watch those to people play against each other, both being rookies of the same year. Also Lebron James everyday is developing a stronger understanding for the game. He is improving with time. Like a great wise man he is developing the skills needed to push the envelope to reach higher in the NBA. Some say that Carmello's game is slipping with only nine points against Phoenix Sunday night. He was 2-of-10 and was benched because of it for the remainder of the game. This SF from Syracuse averages 20 points per game.
Lebron James looks up to a lot of players in the NBA one is Kobe Bryant. Even with Kobe's sex scandal James still looks to Kobe as a roll model. Even James can get caught up in rumors fans got upset the other day when James came to the last game wearing a New York Yankees hat. Other problems that have started are the fact James is causing so many ball turnovers. He is a strong player and he just needs time to work out any of his minor flaws.
At the 2005 NBA all star weekend it was a blast to watch as Lebron James competed with all the great players all on one team. This was the first time at the all-star game for James and it was a great game for him. The 20 year old made it look easy out on the court scoring 13 points with eight rebounds and also six assists. He played a total of 31 minutes. Iverson got the MVP award for his performance as he led the East to victory. Shaq, also put on a show with a one handed free throw that he missed. He grabbed the camera and posed for it always giving his fans a show out there. Yao Ming made an attempt at a three pointer that sailed through the air and missed as an air ball. Still probably recovering from the dunk Shaq made on him. After Yao's nice free throw it put the score at 45-35 with 6:31 left. That's when the East pounded the West with 17 straight points in less the only three minutes. With Lebron on your team he can make things happen he is a passer with a team player attitude I look forward watching him play more in the future.
