NFL Draft - A shallow Pool

NFL teams holding a high draft position may be looking to trade down this year as the pool of talent in this years NFL lottery seems to be pretty shallow as compared to previous years. Being a New Orleans Saints fan all I can say is it's nice to see the 49'ers in the top spot. Even though they're not in the Saints' division any more it's hard not to still dislike them after they kicked our butts for so many years.
The usual state of affairs at this point has the top team looking at a number of players that can help the, and a depth in the draft of anywhere from 10-15 players that are goo solid picks. This year, you can knock that number down to maybe 10. Throw in the fact that you don't really see a guy in the draft that is being labelled a definite future superstar and it puts the top few teams in the position of either really having to do their homework or scrambling to trade off a pick and move down in the draft where they can get some value for the money.
I read an interview with Saints' head coach Jim Haslett that says he sees a few guys at the top that look good and after that it looks like a "crapshoot". Not a very inspiring picture in that Haslett doesn't think there's anybody out there that is a good value that can help his team until you hit the third round.
All this is pretty evident considering there's major disagreements among draft analyst about who the 49'ers are going to pick with the top spot in the draft. Because they're such a bad team, the general thinking would be for them to raffle off the top pick, get a bunch of second and third round picks, and raise the overall level of talent quality. Unfortunately for the 49'ers, nobody seems real interested in moving up in the draft.
